The eye blink switch responds to voluntary blinks, and requires minimal calibration. It discriminates between voluntary and involuntary blinks

The sensor is a a small piece attached to the frame of spectacles. This is positioned so that an intentional blink breaks the beam. The sensor cable is attached to a casing which houses the internal rechargeable battery and the dial for calibration. After initial calibration it auto re-calibrates to reduce the need for frequent adjustment.
