The ZaVox is generally used by people who have a voice disorder resulting from Parkinson's Disease and Motor Neurone Disease or other conditions in which the voice may become inaudible. Others who are currently finding the ZaVox useful are people who need to talk for long periods or raise their voices for specific activities. We know of classroom teachers who use the ZaVox to prevent vocal abuse caused by straining the voice. . The volume of speech may be restricted by a range of conditions and the ZaVox can be used to amplify speech regardless of the cause.
It can be worn around the waist on your own belt or the belt supplied. It is powered by a 9V battery and a power adaptor can be used to charge rechargeable batteries. A choice of microphone is available. The headset microphone and the lapel microphone are the options, however the best results are achieved with a microphone positioned closest to the mouth. The headset provides good positioning of the microphone close to the mouth. The lapel microphone can be hand-held close to the mouth during use. The ZaVox should be turned OFF between periods of use to conserve battery life.
One button controls ON/OFF, two push-buttons control the output volume (one button for volume UP and another for volume DOWN). An LED indicates when the unit is ON. Output is one watt. The speaker cone is of durable polyester. The ZaVox can be ordered with the headset microphone or the lapel microphone or both.
