This lightWRITER has two keyboards, providing continuous 2 way communication between the communication partners. Designed to allow people without speech or hearing to communicate directly with people who do not use sign language. Also been found very suitable to some people with autism who prefer non-verbal communication modes.
The user types on one keyboard and the message appears on both displays. The communication partner reads the message on the second display and responds on the second keyboard; each message appearing simultaneously on both displays. SL55 cannot have speech output. Memories can be used for rapid recall of frequently used words and phrases.

the SL55 has NO SPEECH. It cannot have speech added at any stage of its life. The SL55 does NOT have ports. It is NOT possible to plug in printers or scan modules or any accessories. This is a model that relies on visual display ONLY. As the lowest cost dual keyboard model in the LightWRITER range please be aware of these limitations.
